Bio Portrait

It has been a while since I willingly got in front of a camera and allow another photographer to photograph me. Katie Mahoney will tell you how I was not the poser. Seriously, I felt what some of my clients must feel: shy, don’t know what to do, don’t want to smile and look cheesy, awkward, etc. Like most sessions, the start was slow. But with the confidence of the photographer, he/she rubs off on the ‘model’ and before you know it, you’ve got some memorable images.

Fine Art I

I love portraits, commercial, weddings, but fine art photos seem to occur almost on a day-to-day basis for me. I try to keep my camera on hand at all time and my favorite lens is the 50mm 1.4 on my Nikon D200.

I was getting ready to cross the street when this photo opportunity happened:

I hardly get to go to Palm Springs and take the 74 rather than the 10 fwy. It’s an extra 45 min to an hour of drive time on an empty road; but I like road trips, so the last time I went to PS, I took the long way route.

First time I saw the scene below, it baffled me how there could be so many mailboxes at one stop. I didn’t have a camera then so it’s nice to see that some things don’t change.
